If you’re a gal who loves to shop Wimberley but isn’t sure where to begin, well, just go with the flow. Yep, right on the town Square is an everything emporium renowned for its amazing feminine-oriented inventory (clothing, jewelry, accessories, gifts, children’s items and more) that’s been attracting the savvy since its inception four years ago, so why start anywhere else? Known as the River House, this buoyant boutique represents the community’s high-water mark in casual fashion, fun and finery, but you get the drift!

Owned and operated by two local ladies (and best buds), Michele Woods and Sarah Guerrero, both attuned to “current” aesthetic trends coupled with backgrounds in retail, each felt, as Michele explains, “that Wimberley was ready for a stylish and elevated, but still approachable outlet offering pieces that feel special while remaining comfortable in real life.” And, based on the rave reviews received, not to mention the ever-growing repeat business, it’s been a successful game plan that’s made a big splash since day one.

As mentioned, the River House is conveniently located on the Square, recognizable by its charming rock-faced storefront that definitely invites a visit. The porch with its comfy chairs allows folks to take a break before entering what will prove to be a truly neat experience because within is where the amazement begins. Yes ma’am, once inside visitors are awed and awash in a spacious interior full of color, selection and quality as each piece of merchandise seemingly “calls” to be viewed, handled and, in most cases, purchased. Sarah correctly expresses, “with such diversity, we really do have something for everyone. Disappointment just isn’t allowed.”

So, what’s in store for the shoppers? Well, for starters there’s the attractive and practical “curated” apparel. Rack after rack displays bright seasonal dresses, skirts, blouses, scarves and shirts from brands including Perfect White Tee, Splendid, THML and others. Handbags are to be had from such manufacturers as Remi/Reid. For some stunning jewelry, look to the Uno de 50 and Artizan Joyeria pieces. But that’s not all!

While the River House is certainly a place to give that lady that certain personal look, when you add in the sizable home accessory and lifestyle sections that boast beautiful towels, pillows, books, decorative items and even cosmetics and some edibles, the range expands way beyond wearables.

And, let’s not forget the kiddos. There is lots of fun clothing for the tykes but also neat and made-for-play educational and just-plain-fun toys. Collectors of all ages go gaga over the Jellycat plush creations and other stuffed, squeezable and “squishy” characters.

Couple all of this must-have merch with a very attentive, informed and helpful staff, and each outing to the River House becomes a joyful event, whether buying for oneself or in need of a thoughtful gift (they even have the appropriate go-along cards to celebrate or recognize any occasion). Lastly, gift wrapping and shipping are no problem either.

So, when in Wimberley, float (or drive or walk) on down to the River House. It’s a very cool place but again, you get the drift! See you there. Photos courtesy River House.
